The "Hong Kong International Convention for the Safe and Environmentally Sound Recycling of Ships, 2009" was accepted by the IMO in 2009.
The "Resolution A.962(23)" (approved 2003) recommendatory guidelines are in effect up to this convention takes effect. Some classification societies have adopted this resolution as the "Green Passport".
